Banila Co

Banila Co is a South Korean beauty brand founded in the mid-2000s and known outside Korea mainly for Clean It Zero, a sherbet-textured cleansing balm that melts into an oil on contact with skin and rinses away with water. For many people it was the product that introduced the idea of double cleansing.

Beyond cleansing, the catalogue spans base makeup, primers, sun care and moisturisers, positioned in the accessible price tier that characterises much of mainstream K-beauty. Several Clean It Zero variants exist for different preferences, and the line is widely stocked by international K-beauty retailers.

A cleansing balm is a first-cleanse step: it lifts sunscreen and makeup and is usually followed by a water-based cleanser. Balms are not a treatment for acne or irritation. If your skin is reactive, check the INCI list for fragrance or essential oils and patch test first, and see a dermatologist for breakouts that keep returning.
